The blaze broke out near Sundowner Street, but luckily the firefighters were able to snuff out the flames just after 9 p.m. Thursday.

Starting Friday, thousands of Metro riders will notice something new on their way in to work. Rechargeable cards will replace the old bus and train tickets. But even though fares aren’t going up, some say this new way to pay will actually cost some commuters more.
